Meet Erin Pratt, The Steel Magnolia Behind The Faith Filled Career Podcast
Before we get lost in having fun, I would like to take some time to tell you about myself; the steel magnolia behind the podcast!
My name is Erin and I was born and raised in North Carolina. I grew up around the east coast so I am a huge fan of Rainbows, Oakleys, bathing suits, and Pepsi (the town I grew up in was the birthplace of Pepsi)! I went to college and received my degree in civil engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduation, I moved to South Carolina and married my college sweetheart, Hunter. We currently live in South Carolina, where we are raising our two little southern gentlemen, Logan and Davis.
So why the term “Steel Magnolia?”
I like to believe that all ladies in the south are Steel Magnolias. Steel Magnolia is a term that means you adapt, survive, and persevere with femininity…..the magnolia is one strong flower. In my opinion that perfectly describes a southern lady, she has grace and beauty but she is tough.
As mentioned previously, I am a civil engineer, a wife, a mom, and now a podcaster. You know the saying we all wear many hats? I joke with people and say I wear many shoes! Depending on which role I am filling at that time depends on what shoes I am wearing. I am a high heel, steel toe, flip flop, and sneaker kind of gal.
If you ask my grandmother (I actually call her mamma), she will tell you that when I set my mind to something, I am pretty committed. That trait has stuck with me throughout my life. When I set my mind to something, you better put on your seat belt because we are going for a ride!
The Faith Filled Career Podcast has been on my list of goals for the past year. I had this vision of a place where a community of career people can gather together and reflect and pray on how God is actively showing up in their careers. I am a firm believer that God gave us this life to live to the fullest and that includes our career. I hope this podcast will leave you feeling hopefully and feeling blessed to know that God gave you some amazing talents to do His work here on earth.
This is Hunter, my wonderful husband.
These are my boys, my heart, the reason I do all that I do.
I am so excited to be on this journey with you and look forward to connecting with everyone!
-Erin♥
P.S. Just for fun….when I said “Steel Magnolia,” did you immediately think of Clairee, Truvy, Shelby, and of course….Ouiser (Weezer). If you have no idea what I am talking about, go to Amazon and buy yourself the movie Steel Magnolias with Julia Roberts….it is a true treasure!
